Photography for Hair Bow Chateau – Featured in Macaroni Kid

November 29th, 2011 Kim Townsend Press, Product Photography No comments

I’m excited to see one of my photographs, from the holiday mini session baby cover hunt, featured in a wonderful write up for Hair Bow Chateau. Lauren Przybyl creates the most adorable crocheted hats and I had the pleasure of photographing several of them on some cute babes!

Here is the article (and image):

While planning our Macaroni Kid Mt.Airy-Damascus-Urbana Princess Party a couple months back, I had the extreme pleasure of working with Lauren from HairBow Chateau.  Lauren is a local stay at home mom, who makes hair bows, tutus, flower clips, the most adorable crocheted hats and so much more!  Lauren made each of our Princesses a beautiful flower style bow.  All the girls and mommies loved them!  Now that cooler weather has set in (or is about to set in), Lauren has been posting lots of photos on Facebook of her crocheted hats, they are ADORABLE!!!   Read on to get to know Lauren and HairBow Chateau a little better…plus learn how to enter to win a custom crocheted hat!!

Tell me about yourself

My name is Lauren, I’m originally from Milwaukee, WI., but moved here 2 years ago for my husband’s work & school. I’m a stay at home mom to one amazing & sassy little girl, named Alexandra, who is 3. I like being crafty, watching movies, listening to music, shopping, makeup & animals.

Tell me about your business

HairBow Chateau offers specialty, custom HairBows, Tutus, Flower Clips, Flip Flop/shoe clips. I also make Crochet hats, animals, blankets, gloves, flowers & many other fantastic items

How did your business get started?

I wanted HairBows to match all of my daughters outfits, so I decided I better make my own & save my husband money. I quickly got offers to make them for friends & family!

What do you find most difficult about your job?

The hours! Being a stay at home mom is enough work in itself, I try to devote my days to my daughter & housework. So I’m usually up until 1 or 2am finishing orders.

What do you find most rewarding or what do you like best about your job?

Since I haven’t worked in almost 4 years, I felt like I wasn’t “exercising” my brain enough. This gives me the opportunity to be creative, which is a special gift I received from my mother & grandmother. I’m a people pleaser & it makes me feel great that I can create something that others can appreciate.

With all the tutu & bow makers out there, why should people choose HairBow Chateau?  What makes your business special/sets you apart?

I take great pride in my craftsmanship with creating all of my products.I like everything to be perfect & all my creations are carefully put together for lasting wear & use. I have only one set of hands, a lot of thought & detail goes into my work & I love doing it!

Copyright

Just a reminder...it is illegal (and not nice!) to reproduce professional photographs. Some people mistakenly think that it's fine to copy a print once they have paid for it, or that copying is permissible if they don't plan to sell the image. Both are false.

Copying images without the artist’s permission is illegal and punishable by up to a $150,000 fine. Scanning, emailing or making copies at a copy center or at home are all illegal. Professional portraits are not required to have a stamp or copyright notation to indicate copyright, although this is indicated on the back of many prints. It is understandable that you love your images and want to share them. That means I, the photographer, did my job well and should be fairly compensated for my hard work. I have gone to great lengths and expense to use only the best equipment and professional photo finishing services to create a top-quality product.

Scans create embarrassingly low-quality images that can unfairly harm the photographer's reputation. I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who copies my work without permission. Copyright violations will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
