Welcome to kimtown! I am sure glad you stopped in to see my work. I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida and recently moved to Frederick, Maryland. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send me a message.
Here is some random stuff about me:
I almost always wear hats or bandannas. I adore my family (3 kiddos and a wonderful husband). I absolutely love red wine. I equally love a good Italian meal. I enjoy going antiquing as well as the local garage sales. My favorite color is purple and my favorite number is 4. I have no idea why, but I just like that number.
I took several film classes in school to learn the basics and then purchased my first real SLR (Nikon F80) in 1998. Since then I began reading about lighting, posing, tricks, and I searched for other photographers to help me out, but the best thing that taught me, was good ol’ trial & error. I “officially” opened First Coast Photo in 2006 in Jacksonville, Florida and was a known child & family photographer. My photography was soon displayed throughout the entire 9th floor of the Baptist Women’s Pavilion and in Dr. Winslow’s office on that same floor, where it still hangs today. I moved to Virginia Beach and became Kim Townsend Photography; that name was short lived. After just a year or so in VA, I became kimtown; all inclusive of photography & web design.
Today, I reside in Frederick, Maryland with my loving family. I not only run my photography business here, but I also have a full time web design company, a blooming hand-stamped jewelry business, cancer awareness wear, my middle daughter’s boutique and kimtown Studios in Frederick, Maryland.
